TERESA MAGULA

Teresa has nearly 20 years of experience in investigation, research, evaluation, mediation, public speaking, consulting, coaching, and change management in both the public and private sectors.  Her expertise includes evaluating use of force incidents and Internal Affairs investigations for law enforcement agencies, as well as evaluation of evidence, investigation scoping, interviewing complainants and accused parties, conducing focus groups, legal and policy reviews, project management, and communications.

Currently, Teresa serves as a subject matter expert for the United States Department of Justice and a consultant for the law enforcement consulting team, OIR Group.   Teresa also takes on select workplace investigations upon request from private clients.  

 

Teresa previously worked in the Use of Force and Complaints Sections of the Los Angeles Police Department's Inspector General and served on the LA County Citizen Commission on Jail Violence.  Teresa also served as an analyst for Mayor Villaraigosa's Performance Management Unit as a liaison between the LAPD and Mayor's Office.  She was a Senior Consultant with Deloitte Consulting, an Economist for the Milken Institute, and a research investigator at UCLA.

Teresa also has experience in large system implementations, generally, and in the development, use, and implementation of law enforcement systems, specifically.  Teresa has a Master of Public Policy, where she focused on Crime Policy, and a Bachelor of Sociology and Women's Studies from UCLA.  Teresa is bilingual in Spanish, both conversational and business, and is professionally trained in public policy creation and interviewing.​
